Building up confidence within his squad will be a priority for Wellington Phoenix supremo Ufuk Talay after sustaining a heavy 4-0 away loss to Western Sydney Wanderers.  They came away from that fixture with a 47% share of the possession and clocked up 13 attempts on goal with 3 on target, in comparison to Western Sydney Wanderers, who managed 19 attempts on goal, 12 of which were on target.  

Talay is sure to be taking a close look at his defence, who have given away 17 goals over the last 6 matches and yet amazingly still managed to collect some valuable points during this poor defensive spell due to their 6 goals scored.  Few teams have managed to keep The Nix away from their goal, having scored in all but 1 of their games this season.  Their defensive record does not make good reading so far this season as they have conceded at least 1 goal in 21 of their 25 league games.  

They will be looking to try and improve on a largely bad set of recent results that have seen them defeated in 4 of their last 6 league matches, with just a single victory recorded. It's fair to say they'll need a serious change of form if they want to start moving up the table.
